Counseling Services provides outreach to the UH Hilo community. Outreach activities include:
- Tabling to share mental health information, events, and services
- Relaxation Station
- Mental health screenings
- Workshops and presentations
Student Panel on Resilience
Workshops and Presentations
Workshops and presentations generally provide information or skills practice on a specific issue related to mental health. These may be offered to the student community by Counseling Services, or requested by campus organizations, student groups, or faculty.

- Becoming Trauma-informed Together On June 10, 2024, Counseling Services presented a webinar entitled Becoming Trauma-Informed Together. The presenter was Madalyn Freedman, MA, CTP, a mental health counselor at Counseling Services. Her presentation covered sources of trauma in the context of individuals and communities, how trauma affects our nervous system and capacity to connect, and how we can address it in the university setting by fostering safety, connectedness, and resilience, with an approach specific to Hawai'i.
