Division of Student Affairs
Welcome!
A message from our Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs:
On behalf of Student Affairs, let me welcome you to the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Whether you are a new student, returning student, or simply checking us out, our site is designed to help answer the questions you may have. Of course, if you cannot find the answers you seek, please do not hesitate to reach out. Each office has an email and phone contact and of course always welcomes in person visits.
If you are a new or returning student, please know that as a member of the Vulcan community, and specifically within Student Affairs, my hope is that you are now part of a university ʻohana (family) that is committed to your success. If you are checking us out, I think you will find that our campus is not only diverse (the most diverse in the nation for several years running) but also inclusive and welcoming. Ultimately, we embrace our kuleana (responsibility) to students in helping them reach their potential through engagement and support in and out of the classroom.
Here, you will find faculty who will inspire and challenge you; staff who believe in you and will do all they can to help you connect and persist; and student peers who will connect and become lifelong friends.
I personally can’t wait to run into you and hear about who you are, what brought you to UH Hilo, and how I can help you achieve your goals. I speak for all of us when I say that we’re thrilled to see you on our campus and look forward to meeting you and watching you grow during your time with us.
Mahalo,
Chris,
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
