Notes

  1. Students should take MATH 310 as soon as possible after completing MATH 242 to make timely progress.
  2. MATH 314 is a recommended elective preceding MATH 431 .
  3. Students in the Teaching Track are required to take 3 credits of MATH 496 to graduate. MATH 496 is a variable credit course and may be taken for 1-3 credits. Students are allowed to repeat MATH 496 multiple times in order to reach the minimum of 3 credits required for graduation.
  4. Math courses in Years 3 and 4 may be switched as MATH 324 /MATH 441 and MATH 421 /MATH 422 /MATH 431 are offered alternating years.
  5. Students must take MATH 115 or MATH 271 , or have had some experience in statistics before taking MATH 422 .
  6. Students must earn at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in courses required for the major.
  7. At least 45 credits must be earned in courses at the 300- and 400- level.
  8. Some students may place into a course below MATH 241 . It is recommended that students work up to MATH 241 as quickly as possible to ensure timely progress through the major.
