Notes

  1. MATH 310 should be taken as soon as possible after MATH 242 to ensure timely academic progress.
  2. Years 3 and 4 may be switched as MATH 431-432 and MATH 454-455 are offered alternating years.
  3. MATH 314 and MATH 317 are recommended electives in the Spring semester preceding MATH 431 and MATH 454 respectively.
  4. PHIL 345 is recommended as an elective in Year 2 or Year 3.
  5. Students must earn at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in courses required for the major.
  6. At least 45 credits must be earned in courses at the 300- and 400- level.
  7. Some students may place into a course below MATH 241 . It is recommended that students work up to MATH 241 as quickly as possible to ensure timely progress through the major.
  8. MATH 496 may be taken earlier and for 1 to 3 credits, however a total of 3 credits is required for the major.
