Imua Fitness Classes

    Campus Recreation Department provides numerous opportunities for patrons to meet their fitness goals. Qualified staff and resources are available for group and personal instruction in a wide variety of classes such as Zumba, Yoga, Boot Camp, Total Body Conditioning and Spin. Non-credit activities are also available to provide educational experiences for a wide variety of interests. The activities offered include Dance, Martial Arts, and Self-Defense. All Imua classes are free to members.

    Fitness classes

    Fitness Class Descriptions - Fitness Classes Begins on Monday; August 29th (Fall 2022 - August 29th - December 9th)

    Zumba® - (Offered in-person) Every Tuesdays and Thursdays
    12:30 PM - 1:30 PM (Please meet inside aerobics room 2)

    Zumba Fitness is a full hour class which includes international dance choreography that includes salsa, merengue, samba, and other fitness and dance variations which focuses on cardiovascular endurance training.

    Step-n-Pump - (Offered in-person) Every Wednesdays
    5:30 PM - 6:30 PM (Please meet inside aerobics room 2)

    We are bringing the 80’s with some Hip Hop dance moves back with this heart-pumping interval class that includes both cardiovascular and strength training exercises. You will learn various step cues such as the basic step, L-Step, V-step, triple knees and more. Each class is choreography to high energy music and it also incorporates toning exercises such as squats, lunges, tricep dips, etc.

    Spin - (Offered in-person) Every Tuesdays and Thursdays
    5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Please meet inside aerobics room 2)

    This class is an "indoor cycling" which focuses on endurance, strength, intervals and high intensity cardiovascular endurance training using our world-class Keizer stationary bike.

    Vinyasa Flow Yoga - (Offered in-person) Every Tuesday and Thursdays
    5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Please meet inside aerobics room 2)

    The practice of yoga can help improve your flexibility, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga can also brings stability and clarity to your mind, body and soul. In this class you will learn proper alignment and breathing techniques as well as postures that can enhance your mobility.

    Gentle Yoga - (Offered in-person) Every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
    4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Please meet inside aerobics room 2)

    This class is based on Ruesi Datton. Ruesi Datton is an ancient self care system developed by mediators in Thailand. It consists of a collection of gentle movements and postures similar to Qi Gong and Yoga Asana, in addition to self-massage techniques. The intentions of the practice is to bring the subtle energy body into balance with the physical body. On the surface, Ruesi Datton is a great self-diagnostic routine and is a great complement to a more strenuous work-out regimen. Expect repetitive mobility and range of motion movements and to leave the practice feeling relaxed.

    Please note: All participants must sign up for the class online with waiver before attending any of the above Imua fitness classes. Cancelled classes will be posted outside of the studio.

    Lifestyles and Body Composition Workshop - (Offered Fall Semester 2022)

    Come and join us for a complimentary Body Composition analysis and lifestyles and fitness workshop with Dr. Ozan Atalag and Valerie Yamaki. Receive an analysis of your current body fat and BMI as well as learn some new health and fitness tips that can help improve your overall health goals!
