Campus Center

Campus Recreation and Wellness

Career and Academic Advising Center

  • Serve as the primary advisor for freshmen and “general”/undeclared students
  • Serve as an advising resource for incoming transfer and current students
  • Provide career related resources/opportunities to all students

Center for Global Education & Exchange

  • Engage and advise UH Hilo students with Global Education opportunities
  • Welcome international exchange students from more than 20 partner universities
  • Develop and manage university partnerships around the world

Counseling Services

  • Free, confidential mental health treatment for individuals, couples and groups
  • Sensitive to students of diverse needs and cultures
  • Empowers students to achieve personal and academic goals

AVCSA/Dean of Students

  • Expects students to maintain standards of personal integrity in harmony with educational goals
  • Promotes growth and understanding of one's responsibility within University privileges
  • Reaffirms students’ freedom coupled with accepting responsibility and consequences of one's own actions

Disability Services

  • Academic and public accommodations to qualified persons
  • Serving students, faculty, staff and guests with disabilities
  • Social justice basis in advocacy, education and resource referral

Diversity Center

  • Advocacy & Leadership - The Women's Center empowers women to reach their highest potential
  • Awareness & Education - To raise community consciousness of women's issues and inspire social change
  • The LGBTQ+ Center provides education to the entire campus community concerning issues of gender identity and sexuality through our events and programs.
  • Provides a safe place for students to do homework, relax, and socialize with friends.

Financial Aid

  • Assists students and parents with funding educational expenses
  • Provides assistance with Federal, State, Institutional financial aid and Scholarships
  • Educates students on financial resources that are available to attend UH Hilo

International Student Services

  • Wide-ranging support services for international students
  • Educational, social and recreational events, programs and activities for international students
  • Provides intercultural events and programs for the campus community to develop global awareness and intercultural competence

Kīpuka Native Hawaiian Student Center

  • Provides Native Hawaiian students with guidance and academic support to encourage success and retention
  • Helps students acclimate to the college environment
  • Provides academic advising, financial aid and technology

National Student Exchange

  • Provides exchange opportunities to the US, Canada, and the US Territories
  • Supports inbound and outbound students throughout the exchange program
  • Liaison between UH Hilo, the NSE Consortium, and partner universities

  • Provides all registration and records-related information

Student Employment Services

  • Provide services and support to enrolled students to help them with On Campus Employment
  • Conduct workshops on the Student Employment Program for incoming students
  • Manage the Online Student Employment System and the On Campus Employment Program

  • Immunizations and Health Clearances

Student Support Services

  • Federally-funded program for low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities
  • Our mission is to retain and graduate students from under-represented backgrounds
  • Free services include academic advising, financial aid counseling, and tutoring

University Housing

  • Provides a variety of on-campus housing options
  • Provides housing that is diverse, convenient and safe
  • Environment complements a student’s academic interests

Upward Bound

  • Free! college preparatory services for motivated students
  • Program prepares low-income and first-generation students to succeed in college
  • Student in 8th through 11th grade are encouraged to apply
