Faculty Responsibilities for IDAP Setup in Laulima

Interactive Digital Access Program (IDAP) Request Process

Faculty should submit textbook orders to the campus bookstore by the published campus deadline each term.

Textbook Orders: Campus bookstores typically set the order due date several months before the start of each semester. Please check your bookstore’s calendar for the current deadline.

Inclusive Access (IDAP) Materials: Orders for IDAP materials have a firm cutoff date each semester.

If you plan to use IDAP, please submit your order as early as possible to avoid issues. For specific dates each semester, contact the UHH Bookstore.mlstanle@hawaii.edu

Any IDAP requests submitted after the official cutoff date will require approval from the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA). Faculty will be asked to complete an electronic form, which will be made available in advance of the deadline. Bookstore staff cannot process late IDAP requests without VCAA approval. This policy is applied consistently across all campuses as part of a system-wide practice supported by the Council of Chief Academic Officers (CCAO).

More detailed information can be found on the IDAP website. If you have questions contact UH Hilo Bookstore Manager Margaret Stanley at mlstanle@hawaii.edu.

Faculty Responsibilities for IDAP Setup in Laulima

Although using the Interactive Digital Access Program (IDAP) in Lamakū is easy it does still require some work on the part of the course instructor.

  • While a link may automatically appear in the tools list in your Lamakū course site, this link needs additional setup to connect the textbook and / or supplemental materials from the publisher.
  • You should receive an email from the publisher that will contain critical information regarding this setup - don’t delete this thinking that it’s spam or unwanted solicitation.
    • Contact the publisher immediately so that they can help you complete the IDAP setup process.
    • If you have not received an email from the publisher by two weeks before the first day of instruction, contact UH Hilo Bookstore Manager Margaret Stanley at mlstanle@hawaii.edu. as soon as possible.
  • If you still have questions or problems with the setup, don't hesitate to contact UH Hilo Bookstore Manager Margaret Stanley at mlstanle@hawaii.edu..

Thank you for providing your students with a lower-cost textbook! The UH Bookstores have an IDAP FAQ page for students.
