Welcome to the Hawaiʻi CC and UH Hilo Earth Day Fair and Conservation Career Day

The 2020 Earth Day Fair activities scheduled for April 22nd, 24th and 25th on the UH Hilo campus have been cancelled in response to COVID-19 concerns. While we are saddened, we recognize the importance of limiting large gatherings and social distancing.

Mahalo for having considered participating in these events celebrating Lā Honua / Earth Day, as presenters, volunteers, or attendees. And mahalo for encouraging the attendance and participation of your students, as well.

In the meantime, the committee will switch to planning for Lā Honua 2021.

The annual Earth Day Fair by Hawaiʻi Community College and University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo provides a non-commercial forum to focus on environmental education from federal, state, and local county agencies, nonprofit groups, and private organizations. The Earth Fair is for registered local schools and the UH Hilo and HCC community, and will again be held on the upper UH Hilo campus Campus Center Plaza and Library Lanai.

The Earth Day celebration boasts educational videos, informational exhibits and science demonstrations, expert guest speakers, a food sustainability panel, environmental science skill-building workshops, dance troupes, hula, storytellers, face-painting, campus garden tours, an environmental career fair, unmanned aerial vehicle flight simulators, and many other engaging activities. Free plants, fruits, and other giveaways will be available throughout the day.
