The University of Hawai‘i at Hilo's Strategic Planning process is essential not only for establishing a shared vision but also for ensuring that our goals align with the needs and aspirations of our diverse campus ʻohana and the community we seek to uplift. Central to this process is the collective input from students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders, not only for the plan itself, but its ongoin stewardship and implementation. By working together, we ensure that UH Hilo remains responsive to the needs of our students and community as we navigate an ever-evolving educational landscape.

UH Hilo 2025-2035 Strategic Plan: Harmonization of the 2021-2031 Strategic Plans
In December 2022, UH Hilo began the process of harmonizing three key guiding documents: the 2021-2031 Campus Strategic Plan, the 2021 Faculty Congress UH Hilo Community-Anchored Vision for 2030, and the 2022 Hawaiʻi Papa O Ke Ao Plan. The goal was to integrate the essential elements of each plan into a unified draft that reflects their shared vision and goals.

After consultation with UH Hilo governance groups — including students, faculty and staff — as well and community input, UH Hilo’s 2025-2035 Strategic Plan was finalized in January of 2025.
