GI Bill - National Testing Program
The National Testing Program is a VA test reimbursement program available to individuals who are eligible to receive VA education benefits. The VA will reimburse an individual the required test fees associated with taking a national test, however, will not pay for optional testing fees.

National Testing Program Benefit Description
Although the VA will reimburse an individual for required test fees, some fees associated with the testing process are not covered. Some of the fee types are outlined below:
The following testing fees may be reimbursed by the VA:
- Test registration fees
- Fees for specialized tests
- Test administrative fees
The following fees are not reimbursed by the VA:
- Fees associated with taking pre-tests
- Fees associated to receive scores faster
- Other costs or fees for optional items which are not required to an approved test
Eligibility Requirements
The following National Tests have been approved by the VA for reimbursement:
- SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test)
- LSAT (Law School Admission Test)
- GRE (Graduate Record Exam)
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)
- AP (Advanced Placement Exam)
- CLEP (College Level Examination Program)
- ACT (American College Testing Program)
- DAT (Dental Admissions Test)
- MAT (Miller Analogies Test)
- MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test)
- OAT (Optometry Admissions Testing)
- PCAT (Pharmacy College Admissions Test)
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
- DSST (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests)
- ECE (Excelsior College Examinations)
- PLA (Prior Learning Assessment )
How to Apply for Benefit
To apply for reimbursement under the National Testing Program you must complete VA Form 22-0810 (Application for Reimbursement of National Exam Fee) and send to the VA Western Regional Education Office at the following address:
