What a Thrill

Kara Ueki
University of Waikato, New Zealand

During my break, I spent two weeks in South Island, and it was not enough! We did as much as we could and had a great time with each other. We even met up with a couple of other friends along the way. This is when I drove on the left side of the road while on the right side of the car. Experienced my first autumn season and yellows, oranges and reds of the trees. Got to experience being surrounded by sheep on the road on our way from town to town.

Actually did what I thought I would never do: Bungy Jump! Got to see someone actually use a loom and spin wool! Get up close and personal to a sea lion (on accident of course), ride a ferry with a car as the "luggage". Got to do a tour of a brewery and a tour of the Cadbury chocolate factory. Play in snow and see an iceberg. Just so many experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. One of the best two weeks spent in NZ just traveling soaking up the great sights, attractions and people with great friends that I still keep in contact with today. What a thrill! :)
