This training, which includes hands-on practice, has been offered on Maui and Hawaiʻi Island for state agencies, healthcare entities, and nonprofit organizations. Participants will learn techniques and tools for immediate use in daily interactions with co-workers, supervisees, and supervisors.

Diane Petropulos, M.A., is a principal in ADRinACTION, offering mediation, facilitation, and training services in mediation and workplace conflict. She has developed and conducted trainings in Hawai‘i, and is a former lecturer at the master’s level in the Human Resource Management Program at UH-Manoa. Diane has mediated hundreds of circuit, district, and small claims court cases for Maui Mediation Services and currently serves on their Board of Directors. She is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Mediation Centers of Hawaii (MCH). Diane serves on a panel of federal mediators handling Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) cases and is a certified Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) mediator.

Workplace Violence Prevention Guidance on recognizing, preventing, and responding to workplace violence. 30 minutes Annually
Hawaiʻi Ethics Code Learn about ethical responsibilities under the Hawai‘i State Ethics Code. 30 minutes Every 4 Years (Every odd year for E/Ms)
Conflict of Interest Disclosure Required annual disclosure of potential conflicts of interest for UH employees. Less than 5 minutes Annually
Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) Security awareness training on best practices for protecting university data. 1 hour Annually
Disclosure of Financial Interests Required for members of the Board of Regents, the President, Vice-Presidents, Assistant Vice-Presidents, Chancellors, and the Provost must file; employees classified as Director, Department Head, or Fiscal Administrator may be required to file. 1 hour Annually

Specialized training is required for employees in certain roles or departments based on job responsibilities and compliance requirements.

UH Form 410, Training Request Form
Employees should submit the Form 410 to their supervisor to request participation in OHR-sponsored and external training opportunities.
