Award Criteria and Nomination Process

Outstanding RCUH Employee Award Description

Recognizes a RCUH employee who has made demonstrable, significant, and outstanding contributions to their University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo project throughout the past year or years.

Eligibility

  1. Any RCUH Employee working for a UH Hilo Principal Investigator (PI).
  2. Nominees who have retired within the academic year nominated will be considered.

Criteria

Criteria for nomination include (but are not limited to) exceptional contributions such as:

  • Contribution to the improvement of their project;
  • Initiative taken to develop the achievement or to advance the project;
  • Development and implementation of a unique activity or outstanding accomplishment;
  • Leadership and resourcefulness in implementing the achievement or to advance the project;
  • Impact of achievement on the project, professional field, and/or larger community.
  • Sustained outstanding performance throughout the past year or years; or
  • Other outstanding performance, significance, and/or quality of the achievement.

Procedure

Faculty, staff, and/or students may nominate candidates for the award.

  1. A completed nomination form.
  2. A statement summarizing the extent to which the nominee meets award criteria.
  3. Optional materials may include letters of support and other pertinent information provided by the nominee or nominator(s).
