Halloween In Japan/ Trip to Hiroshima
Joshua Rushton | Computer science and Japanese major - Meiji University, Japan
Before coming to Japan I enrolled in some computer science classes here at Uh so I can do them online while I did my Japanese classes in Japan. I was able to finish the class but it did prove to be extremely difficult especially with the time difference and it all being online. My advice would be that if at all possible, try to get all your courses done at the same university. It will lessen the amount of time you will need to sacrifice out of your day.
The reason why I chose Meiji University is quite simple really. I approached my current teacher at the time, Fukushima Sensei, and she recommended Meiji University as it was one of the most prestigious schools on the list which still offered Computer science courses. I am aware that I am the first student to have gone to this university. So as a precaution I did my best to keep track of the steps taken before and during my study abroad. I will say that Meiji University is still figuring out their study abroad system with a lot of confusing discrepancies in their emails as well as a severe lack/delay of information. All in all, Meiji is definitely a solid choice when it comes to learning Japanese. Their curriculum is very good and their teachers seem to like their job which is very important in my eyes.
If anyone decides to study abroad at Meiji University and they run into some difficult questions regarding the school system I would be more than happy to shoot an email their way and help them out.
