Sustainability Committee Charge

The UH Hilo Sustainability Committee is established

  • To actively work with the campus community (Facilities, Administration, Faculty, Staff, and Students) to develop and enact goals, metrics, and plans to increase sustainability in the following areas: Operations, Curriculum, Research and Scholarship, Campus and Community, and Cultural Connections, in order to meet the energy reduction (carbon neutral by 2050) and associated targets set forth in the UH system Sustainability Policy.

  • To evaluate proposals for funding from the campus energy reinvestment project account. To provide representation for UH-Hilo by appointing members to sit on the UH System Sustainability Council, UH System Sustainability Curriculum Council, and annual UH system Sustainability Summit.

  • To inform and educate the campus and broader community on sustainability issues and programs
