CCECS offers drawing classes

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo is offering drawing classes for keiki, teens, and adults this spring.
Art for Keiki: Adventures in Drawing is for ages 7-11. Students will broaden their artistic vocabulary and drawing know-how while being introduced to basic elements of art and design. All materials will be provided. Classes are on Wednesdays, January 17 - March 7, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, in UH Hilo’s PB-7 Meeting Room. Cost is $100.
Art for Teens: Intermediate Drawing is for ages 12-16. Lessons will focus on specific techniques such as perspective, shading, and value to advance students’ artistic development. All materials will be provided. Classes are on Mondays, January 22 - March 12, 4:30- 6:00 pm, in UH Hilo’s PB-7 Meeting Room. Cost is $100.
Art for Everyone: Drawing: The Natural Way is for students age 16 and up. Students will develop skills in still life drawing inspired by Kimon Nicolaides, author of The Natural Way to Draw. Initial materials will be provided. However, students will need to purchase their own archival drawing paper and an optional sketchbook, to be discussed on the first day of class. Classes are on Wednesdays, January 17 - March 7, 4:30 - 6:30 pm, in UH Hilo’s Kanaka‘ole Hall, Room 122. Cost is $125.
