CCECS offers classes for keiki

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo announces two non-credit classes designed especially for children.

Max Belliard will teach hip-hop dancing for ages 6-11. Styles include breakdance, tutting, popping & locking, hip-hop choreography, freestyle and more. No dance experience is required. Classes will meet at the UH Hilo Old Gym on Fridays from 5:15-6:15 pm, September 9 – November 18, with no class on November 11. Cost is $60.

Art for Keiki: Adventures in Painting will teach keiki ages 7-10 technical painting and drawing skills while engaging them in exploring artistic elements in their environment. Instructor Kellie Miyazu currently teaches elementary school art and is the Designer-in-Residence at the East Hawai‘i Cultural Center. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm, September 13 – November 1. Location is to be determined. Cost is $105 and includes all required supplies.
