Fall 2025 Commencement
Please note:
Only those students who have previously applied for graduation are able to register for the commencement celebration. Priority Deadline to Apply for Spring 2026 Graduation is Oct 1, 2025.
For those that still want to participate in the Fall 2025 commencement ceremony please register ASAP. You must register to participate in the Fall Commencement Ceremony by 12/12/25!
The Commencement Ceremony is not open to the public, only registered guests will be able to attend.
The ceremony will be livestreamed.
Here are a few updates & reminders:
- If you have not ordered your Cap and Gown, please visit or call the UH Hilo Bookstore: (808) 932-7394.
- Rehearsal will be at the UH Hilo Vulcan Gym on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 12:30pm. All graduate degree students, please plan to rehearse the hooding process at the end of rehearsal.
- All Campus parking lots will be open on commencement day 12/20/2025.
- On Saturday, December 20 beginning at 7:00 am, Student Check-in, Kīhei Tying, and Name Readers will be located Student Life Center lobby. You will then be directed to the next station for your line-up assignment.
- Graduates may participate adorned with lei. Lei vendors will be located curbside near the athletics complex parking lot.
- A professional photographer from Reed Takaaze Photography will capture that perfect moment. All the candidates will be emailed directions to view photos after the ceremony.
- Family and friends will not be allowed on the floor during the ceremony to take pictures. After the ceremony, there are many opportunities for photos on this glorious day! Graduates will exit the gym during the recession to meet and greet your family and friends outside of the gym. Please pre-plan a spot to meet your family.
- Please celebrate safely. We anticipate the ceremony to end prior to 11:00am.
- Check-in for your registered guests will open at 7:00 am and guests are allowed to enter the gym after check-in. Please send any questions regarding commencement to: commence@hawaii.edu.
- Please share with your friends and family that the ceremony will be available on live stream starting at 8:00am HST 12/20/25.
