Getting to Campus by Public Transportation

It is possible to get to the UH Hilo campus via public busses from both airports, if you plan your arrival times accordingly. Route 2: the Blue Line has three daily departures from the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA), at 1:50, 5:20, and 8:20pm. This bus takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes to reach Downtown Hilo, with via the saddle road, between Maunakea and Maunaloa. The Hilo airport is served by Route 101: Keaukaha, which leaves the airport weekdays and saturdays every hour, on the half-hour, from 6:30am - 7:30pm. It travels to Downtown Hilo on a route that passes by many of Hilo's beach parks. It takes about 45 minutes for the journey downtown, with a brief stop at Richarsdson's Beach Park. On a Sunday or Holiday, the route travels continues directly to the UH Hilo campus. Other days, the best routes for getting from Downtown Hilo to the UH Hilo Campus are listed below.

Where are the Campus Bus Stops?

The campus bus stop is located in front of the Old Gym on Kapiʻolani Street and by the Campus Bookstore. The bus stop by the Campus Bookstore is not in use presently.
