Let Your Voice Be Heard!
The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Student Association (UHHSA) is a Chartered Student Organization (CSO) authorized by the University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents to receive and manage the mandatory student government fee.
Serving in UHHSA is more than just a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to represent your peers, shape campus life, and gain hands-on experience in governance, policy, and decision-making. Through UHHSA, students develop valuable skills while helping to strengthen the UH Hilo community.
Eligibility Requirements to Run for Office
To qualify as a candidate for UHHSA, you must:
- Be currently registered at UH Hilo for at least 6 credit hours.
- Remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at UH Hilo during the entire campaign, election period, and throughout each semester of your term.
- Have been assessed the mandatory UHHSA student fee.
- Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 at the time of nomination (and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA each semester while in office).
- Be free of disciplinary sanctions at the time of nomination and during your term of office.

Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Executive positions require a one-year minimum of CSO experience.
- College Senators (CAFNRM, CAS, CNHS, CoBE, DKICP, KHUOK) must be a UH Hilo student currently enrolled at that prospective college.
- Graduate Senator must be a UH Hilo student enrolled in a graduate program.
