UHHSA Hilo Ambassador

The UHHSA Hilo Ambassador program grants UH Hilo student applicants an award with a discretionary amount of financial aid in the form of a travel stipend to present their academic work at an event or conference in line with their studies, or student group involvement. The travel stipend shall be limited to $500 for inter-island travel, $1,000 for continental travel, and $1,000 for foreign travel. Although stipends are not pay, it is still considered income to the recipient and could have an effect on the recipient's financial aid award. If an applicant receives financial aid, it is strongly recommended that they discuss what impact receiving a stipend may have on their financial aid award with a Financial Aid Counselor. Awardees may only receive one stipend, per academic year. There will be no reimbursement option offered.
