Summary:
The University of Hawaii, Institute for Astronomy (IfA) is constructing a ground-based telescope system for the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS) Project. This document describes the Statement of Work (SOW), Deliverables and Requirements for a design study for an enclosure to house the four-telescope array for this project and requests proposals from qualified vendors to perform a study of the "common enclosure" concept for this array on Mauna Kea. The study would address the engineering feasibility at a conceptual design level, as well as develop a cost estimate for its construction. The selected company will be issued a services agreement through the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii for the SOW.
