Summary:
Construction for Subaru Telescope resumed on Monday after a fire on Jan. 18, 1996. Sierra Club has not taken a position on whether the state should cancel a permit for Subaru Telescope to be built on Mauna Kea. Big Island police concluded that the fatal fire atop of Mauna Kea didn't involve criminal foul play. Subaru's control and support portion of the building on Mauna Kea has been completed. Subaru's mirror transportation will affect roads.
