Here's a description of each segment: 1) Visit with a QR Code; you can visit https://hilohawaii-csm.symplicity.com/. 2) Create Your Profile: Quick and easy sign up. By answering a few questions you are able to create an account on Symplicity. 3) Upload Yours Docs: Upload your resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, writing samples, etc. 4) Apply Anywhere: Once your account is created, you can view and apply for jobs & internships that interests you. At the bottom of the page is the contact information for Career Services, email career@hawaii.edu, phone number is (808) 932-7777.

Mākia (previously Symplicity) is a free online platform that connects UH Hilo students and alumni with employers offering local job and internship opportunities.

Students/ Alumni can:

  • Apply for employment and internship oportunities
  • Connect with UH Hilo Career Services
  • Tap into career-related resources
  • Stay updated on on-campus career-related events
  • Access the platform via mobile app (iOS & Android)

Employers can:

  • Post external (off-campus) employment and internship opportunities
  • Register multiple recruitment-related contacts

Note: All job postings go through an approval process to ensure quality and relevance. Mākia is exclusive to UH Hilo.

The Virtual Career Center for students and faculty at University of Hawaii at Hilo has recently been updated with on-demand video-based career exploration and professional development content, featuring insights from real professionals across industries. This platform helps students and faculty research career paths, understand what specific jobs entail, and develop key career-readiness skills through short, searchable videos, experiential learning opportunities, and local jobs and internships.

In the Virtual Career Center you can:

  • Browse industries and occupations to learn what career options exist and the path to get there.
