Trade wind inversion Hawaiian Rainband Project
Summary:
The author used Hawaiian Rainband Project data from the summer of 1991 to measure the trade wind inversion with a boundary layer wind profiler. Measured by the profiler at Paradise Park on the Hawaii Island, the Hilo inversion is found highly correlated with the moist oceanic boundary layer. The inversion height on windward Hawaii is 2253 plus minus 514 m and it varieson less than an hourly basis.
