Summary:
Professor Bryan returned from a trip (started July 7 from Kukainu plantation) to Mauna kea sunburned and frostbitten as there were banks of snow five feet thick on Mauna Kea summit, as well as ice ridges and ice caves. They ascent from the northease side which is the hardest side to climb and descended by the northern side over Nau trail. He reports the discovery of an ancient mountain glacial scourning field 50 square miles in area on the northern side of the summit of Mauna Kea, and the views of Mauna Loa, Haleakala of Maui, Halemaumau, etc. Lieutenant George R. Meyer accompanied him.
