Summary:
This article presents the results of an archaeological inventory survey with subsurface testing conducted within the proposed Multi-Purpose Range Complex (MPRC) of the Pohakuloa Training Area on Hawaii Island. The large sample of avian faunal remains dating to the prehistoric Hawaiian period suggested evidence concerning the chronology of the development of large chiefdoms on Hawaii Island.
