Summary:
This document endeavors to determine if the Fraxinus uhdei, an introduced timber species, is invasive in Hawaii and if the logging of trees helped to spread this and other alien species. As a result, 29 plots that were established prior to the selective logging practice that began on the windward side of Mauna Kea on the island of Hawaii in 1971, were surveyed of the native Acacia koa tree in an effort to determine if the Fraxinus spread beyond the borders of an existing plantation and to determine if there was an increase in other alien species of trees.
