- The purpose of this study is to determine why the Poouli, (Melamprosops phaeosoma), a Hawaiian honeycreeper is nearing extinction. As a result, two sequential nestings of a pair of Poouli are described in this document along with similarities to the nesting of most other honeycreepers.
