Summary:

The purpose of this project is to better understand the hydrologic processes and groundwater system within the Humuula Saddle region (TMKS 3-4-4-16-005, 3-4-4-16-006, 3-4-4-16-007) of Hawaii Island and help to improve management practices of the islands groundwater resources. During the assessment that the proposed action would have on the environment, impacts regarding the following were taken into consideration: geology and soils, water resources, noise, anthropogenic lighting, air quality, flora, fauna, cultural resources, potable water, wastewater disposal, solid and hazardous waste, transportation, land use, socioeconomic environment, and the environmental justice and protection of children. Through this analysis, it was found that none of the impacts would meet or exceed mandated thresholds as a result of the preferred action. Therefore, it was found that the project would have no significant effect on the environment.
