Summary:
"The 1995 Revised Management Plan discusses the public use activities that are permitted within the UH Management Areas. These include recreational, educational, cultural, and commercial activities. In general, recreational activities such as hiking, sightseeing, amateur astronomy, snow sports, and hunting are permitted but may be controlled or restricted. Cultural activities that do not involve physical impacts are permitted. Commercial activities that are permitted include skiing and sledding tours, hiking tours, and sight-seeing tours. Other commercial activities that are allowed but require special permission include tours of the telescope facilities, film-making and night use of the Visitor Information Station at Hale Pohaku. Recreational use of off-road vehicles and commercial hunting tours are prohibited."
