- Summary:
- This study is a comprehensive description of over 40 xenoliths from three cinder cones on the southern flank of the Mauna Kea volcano, Hawaii. The purpose of this research was to carefully examine the xenoliths' petrography and compositions in order to relate them to the compositions of Mauna Kea and other Hawaiian volcanoes, xenoliths, lavas, and lava phenocrysts. The objectives were to draw conclusions about xenolith origins, crystallization environments, and postmagmatic processes.
