- This document describes the steepness, by degrees, of subaerial and submarine slopes that are located in various areas of the island of Hawaii such as Kilauea, Mauna Loa, and Mauna Kea, as well as landslides that have occurred on the islands of Molokai and Oahu. Also described, is the Hawaiian Ridge -- the site of numerous landslides, and the Alika landslide that occurred of the west coast of Hawaii. Maps of slope steepness in various areas around the State of Hawaii as well as a description of slope changes, that occur with age, are also given.
