Summary:

Two methods of calculating telescope earthquake loading were investigated in this report. The first method used a procedure as was outlined in the 1997 Uniform Building Code, Division IV, Sections 1626 - 1636. The second method was derived from recommendations that were made in a report that was prepared by Dames and Moore in February, 1994 for two similar telescope sites.
