This document describes the creation of the cinder cones on Mauna Kea, (White Mountain), how it has evolved beyond the shield-building stage, the deposits that were formed by glaciers during recent ice ages that exist, the snow fall that occurs on the summit, and the prediction of whether Mauna Kea will erupt again. Other facts such as its location, elevation above sea level, the area that covers on the island, its volume, the most recent eruptions that have occurred on the summit, the oldest dated rocks that exist, its estimated age, and the volcano stage of this mountain are also included in this document.
