- This legend describes Pele's journey from Kauai, Niihau, Maui, Oahu, Molokai, and finally Hawaii where the craters of Kilauea were above the seepage of the sea. It tells of how to very handsome chiefs of Kauai, Kahawali and Ahua, angered Pele by outracing her in the sport of Holua racing and caused her to turn them into the two "Hills of Pele" (Na Puu O Pele).
