This story tells of a time when men forgot to pray or to give thanks for their good fortune. The legend tells of how this angered the Shark Chief who promised that the ocean would one day roll over the islands due to the evil ways of the people of Hawaii and how a fisherman, who prayed for forgiveness for his anger, was instructed to travel to the summit of Mauna Kea where he and his wife would be spared.
