Summary:
This article describes the journey that was taken by two young brothers, who were chiefs of Puna, in an effort to see their island of Hawaii. Their journey took them to the slopes of Kilauea, a volcano eruption "where lava seethed and bubbled below", on a trail that led them to the slopes of Mauna Loa, to a beach that was scattered with villages, to a site where Mauna Kea was seen "wearing a helmet of white", then onto Kohala, Waipio, the forest of Panaewa, the crater of Halai Hill, and back to Puna.
