Same photograph with different captions appeared in three issues. In August 1911: "Snow-capped Mauna Kea, rising 14,000 feet from the sea." In February 1913: "The Port of Hilo, snow-clad Mauna Kea, nearly 14,000 feet high, in background." In May 1917 issue: "Hilo Bay, with Mauna Kea (highest island mountain in the world) in the background. The early morning view from the steamer as one enters Hilo Bay is delightful, and has been reproduced in diorama form."
