Mr. Akiyama received an invitation from the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory of the University of Arizona to attend the reception celebrating the renaming of the 1.5 meter telescoe in honor of Dr. Gerard Kuiper. Mr. Akiyama was not able to make the trip but sent some anthuriums to Sylvia and her mother for the occasion. Mrs. Akiyama wrote the notes about the phone call from Sylvia on June 12.
