- Oxygen isotope ratios were measured in olivine phenocrysts, olivine microphenocrysts, glass, and/or matrix from samples collected from the second Hawaii Scientific Drilling Project. Relationships between the δ18O of phenocrysts, microphenocrysts, and glass or groundmass indicate that this component (when present) was added over the course of crystallization-differentiation.
