Summary:
Mr. Coan described the scenes of the burning lava, thunder and lightning, first hail, an earthquake lasted 30 seconds, and a blazing comet. There were three broad stream of lava, one in a westerly direction toward Kona; another flowed northward to the base of Mauna Kea and divided into a north-west direction toward the plains of Waimea and a north-east direction towards Hilo.
