Subject:
Stratospheric ozone Chlorine monoxide (ClO) Mauna Kea
Summary:
ClO is the molecule involved in the depletion of the Earth's ozone layer due to the input of manmade CFCs. In this study, the ground-based ClO microwave measurements from Mauna Kea were compared with ClO measurements taken by Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) MLS and Aura MLS. The results showed UARS and Aura MLS can be considered as a single unified data set. The Aura MLS and ground-based measurements also show good agreement.
