Followed by a summary of Hawaiian birds (232 species), as well as the challenges in conservation of the Hawaiian birds. The second part is "Check-list of the birds of the Hawaiian Islands" by Bryan and Greeway. The third part is "The Generic arrangement of the drepanidinae" by James Greenway, Jr.
