- Five candidates are considered for TMT site: Cerros Tolar, Cerro Armazones, and Cerro Tolonchar in Chile; San Pedro Martir in Mexico, and Mauna Kea 13 N in Hawaii. This is the overview article on the site testing project. It discussed the site selection, instrument and methodology for testing, and the summary of results. Two sites, Cerros Armazones and Mauna Kea 13N were selected for further investigation.
