Summary:
Dr. Kuiper made some suggestions about developing Mauna Kea for scientific purposes including construction of a simple lodge with water and electricity for both recreational and scientific use. University of Hawaii would take some management responsibility and form an association with other research organizations. In the letter to Dr. Kiddle, Assistant Director and Chief of Sciences of NASA, Dr. Kuiper enclosed some information regarding the dedication ceremonies. He also mentioned the test results which indicated Mauna Kea summit is superb to any known site.
