Mr. Akiyama received his first Mainland phone call Mr. Gillespie, Dr. Kuiper's assistant. He spoke with Kuwaye Bros., the lowest bidder. They can provide storage which is only 1/3 miles from the wharf. He drove to Pohakuloa Army Camp and the Humuula Sheep Station to check the possible living facilities in the area. Mr. Akiyama recommended Pohakuloa Army Camp which would provide comfortable living condition than other places with just nine extra miles from Hale Pohaku.
