- Summary:
- The legislatures have approved resolutions requesting Governor's office to set aside a portion of Mauna Kea as a scientific preserve. Mr. Akiyama mentioned that Dr. Kuiper suggested that the University of Hawaii should request funds from NASA to build another major telescope as LPL had already got funding for a test observatory on Mauna Kea from NASA. He also asked the Governor if it's time to inform Hawaii's democratic congressional delegates of the Mauna Kea development.
