A 4.2 magnitude earthquake located about 15 miles beneath the north-wester flank of Mauna Kea Volcano occurred on May 22 at 7:50. A letter to the editor in remembrance of William Seymour, who died in Hilo April 20 at the age of 96 by Kevin Krisciunas of JAC. Seymour provided radio communication and other assistance to the early development of Mauna Kea.
