David Jewitt and Jane Luu discovered two comet-like objects in Kuiper Belt beyond Pluto using the 88-inch UH telescope. Mufi Hannemann, director, Office of International Relations, wrote on Mauna Kea observatories and the benefits to Hawaiʻi. A winter storm dumped six inches of snow at the summit of Mauna Kea.
